3. Purpose of use of the register

  • Collected personal data is used:
  • For customer identification and access rights management.
  • To deliver orders to registered users and to maintain and develop customer relations.


4. Basis for data collection and processing

The customer's data is collected and processed with the customer's consent, or for the implementation of the contract with the customer.


5. Data content of the register

The register contains the following data types:

Basic customer information, such as:

  • first and last name
  • local address
  • postal district
  • email address
  • telephone number
  • usernames and passwords for the controller's www services

Information related to managing the customer, such as:

  • customer contact and communication (including feedback and complaints)
  • possible marketing measures aimed at the registered person, as well as other measures related to the maintenance of the customer relationship
  • direct marketing permits and prohibitions
  • changes to the information identified above


6. Data retention period

Personal data is stored as long as it is needed to implement the contract with the customer or to maintain customer service.


7. Regular sources of information

The information to be recorded in the register is obtained from the customers themselves, e.g. From messages sent via web forms, by e-mail, by phone, via social media services, contracts, customer meetings and other situations where the customer gives out their information. Data is also collected using the Google Analytics. 


8. Regular data transfers and data transfer outside the EU or the European Economic Area

Personal data from the register are received by:

  • Kniteco Oy and its employees
  • payment intermediaries that receive the customer's payment
  • transport companies that may transport products to customers
  • accounting office that records the orders in Kniteco Oy's accounting
  • an auditor who checks the accounts
  • An IT company that maintains the website of Kniteco Oy

Information is not regularly disclosed to other parties. Information can be published to the extent agreed with the customer. Some of the external service or software providers used by the company may store data outside the EU or the European Economic Area.


9. Use of cookies

On our website, we use the so-called cookie function, i.e. cookies. A cookie is a small text file that can be sent to the user's computer and stored there, which enables the website administrator to identify visitors who visit the website frequently, to facilitate the login of visitors to the website, and to enable the compilation of composite information about the visitors. With the help of this feedback, we are able to constantly improve the content of our pages. Cookies do not damage users' computers or files. We use them in such a way that we can offer our customers information and services according to the individual needs of each.

If the user visiting our pages does not want us to receive the above-mentioned information with the help of cookies, most browser programs enable the cookie function to be turned off. This is usually done through the browser settings.

However, it is good to take into account that cookies may be necessary for the proper functioning of some of the pages we maintain and the services we offer.


10. Registry protection

The online store is operated by Shopify Inc., which provides Kniteco Oy with an online e-commerce platform that enables Kniteco Oy to sell products and services. The data is stored on Shopify's firewall-protected servers. The data contained in the register can be accessed and are entitled to be used only by employees defined in advance by the controller, whose job description includes processing the data. These employees are bound by a duty of confidentiality.


11. Automatic decision making

Automated individual decisions (Article 22 of the EU Data Protection Regulation) are not made.


12. Rights of the data subject

The registered person has the right to check what information about him has been stored in the personal data register. A written inspection request must be sent signed to the person responsible for registry matters.

The right of inspection is free of charge once a year at most.

The registered person has the right to demand the correction or deletion of incorrect or outdated data or the transfer of data from one system to another. He also has the right to limit or object to the processing of his data in accordance with Articles 18 and 21 of the EU Data Protection Regulation
